Edinburgh
We love Edinburgh, made special by having one of my best friends and her family here. So obviously we had a catch up. Oh sometimes it’s just so good to just sit and talk. It’s been 34 years, I remember meeting Jannie Sarge on day 1 at Sheff Poly and we have been firm friends ever since along with Helen, Pav & Gen. So today was just so special!

We had a little walk along the esplanade and sat chatted over coffee and a cheese toastie overlooking Crammond Island.

St Andrew 12th October 22
I have wanted to visit St Andrews for some time, I was a little intrigued about what it was like having seen the Great British Railways programme and listening to friends that has visited, namely my hairdresser Steve. It didn’t disappoint at all. The stone work, the history with the castle and cathedral ruins, the beaches offering both sand and rock particularly the tidal pool at the castle. I also just loved the architecture reminded me in parts of Canterbury, a little of Cambridge. Oh and let’s not forget the golf, I am not a big fan but you can help but be wowed by it.

The campsite however was disappointing, a very commercial holiday park and bearing in mind it’s half term it’s definitely not one for us. However, it served its purpose and provided us with a base as well as a lovely walk from the campsite and easy access into the town.
Crawton Waterfall
Today we moved from Stonehaven to St Andrews and took the South Coast trail through Montrose, Arbroath and Dundee. We stopped off on Dundee for a shop and had to drive over the Tay Bridge. On route we also stopped at the Crawton Waterfall and also the RSPB nature reserve on a cliff top. We had a nice walk along the cliffs and then a look at the waterfall as it fell into the sea.

Aviemore revisited
34 years ago I had been seeing Tim just a few weeks and he came home from a shift on Sealink ferries saying his friend had offered him a very nice skiing lodge with jacuzzi and sauna in Aviemore for a week free of charge was I interested. As a skier I jumped at the chance and said it would be so exciting so a week later we caught the train to Aviemore for our first holiday together January 1988. Tim had never skied and so this is where he learned after crashing many times. We had the best time and laughed so much and it was the start of many skiing holidays and holidays to come. And here we are 34 years later outside the pub we frequented albeit with a name change.
